Assystem’s Nuclear Division has recently been awarded several design contracts, and as a result are expanding their team in Somerset. As such, we now have an opening for an Anchorage Civil Engineer based at our office in Bristol.
As an Anchorage Civil Engineer your role is to ensure the production and monitoring of the Civil Engineering of the buildings are to which they are assigned and proposes technical solutions. You will directly receive work assignments from and report to the Group Leader.
You will work closely with the Group Leader. You will develop civil design solutions, describe them in CAD-tasks and coordinate the correct implementation into the PDMS-3D Model by the CAD Designer. You will also maintain the interface with other Civil Work Teams inside the Responsible Designer Organisation as well as the interface with the Civil Works Detail Designer and equipment suppliers.
As an Anchorage Civil Engineer, you will be accountable for Civil Engineering, progress monitoring, change management, and supporting the monitoring of the main civil engineering and equipment contracts.
Perform design activities for fastenings in concrete
Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents for their building
Responsible for anchorage design activities
Prepare and chair progress meetings within their scope of activity (internal / external)
Manage and monitor the volume of change requests made
Make necessary clarifications to the documents within Edvance’s scope.
Contribute to surveillance of civil execution drawings
Essential Experience / Qualifications:
HNC / HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering
Design Office experience
Knowledge of Civil Engineering Eurocodes
Understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
Experience in a highly regulated industry (preferably nuclear)
Software / Tools:
Essential: Microsoft Word/Excel and basic knowledge of the software packages
Desirable: PDMS user knowledge
