Job Description

Are you an I&C Engineer with aspirations to work in one of the most exciting, challenging and forward-looking projects in the building and energy industry? Are you looking for a role which can offer you the stability and confidence that you will be an important and valued member for an organisation with over 50 years of experience providing engineering services?

Assystem, the second largest nuclear engineering company in the World, are expanding rapidly in the UK, and our mission is to contribute to the acceleration of the energy transition all over the world. We have many projects in the UK and coming on board here at Assystem, you will be given the opportunity to be at the forefront of the decarbonisation revolution. You will have the opportunity to learn, specialise and grow your career in one of the most important priorities of the 21st century.

Our immediate requirement right now is the project at Hinkley Point C (HPC) in Somerset - the first of its kind in the UK in over 20 years and one of the biggest construction projects globally. If you have experience in the nuclear sector, then that’s great, but by no means is it essential. We are looking for people who are ambitious and looking to be part of one of the most important operations in the country.

The role would be a semi-flexible WFH pattern working 2-3 days on-site in Bristol, but we could possibly also look at one of our other offices in Blackburn, Warrington or Derby.

Qualifications and Experience

  • I&C, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of producing design documentation and Test Specifications
  • Familiarity with HMI
  • Experience of working on an operating plant or on an industrial site

Would be nice, but not essential:

  • Knowledge of nuclear system design, thermal-hydraulic calculation and modelling
  • Working knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics
  • Knowledge of EPR design principles and Safety Classification
  • Understanding of Safety Case construction and Nuclear Safety requirements placed on systems
  • Knowledge of UK licensing requirements and its application within the HPC project

Assystem can offer fantastic opportunities for development within the UK and abroad, we are undertaking significant growth plans, especially in the UK so there has never been a better time to join us. Should you have any questions on the role, or wish to discuss the details of the role before confirming your interest, please get in touch with James – jkendrick@assystem.com

At Assystem, everyone holds the reins for their own careers. Our role is to offer you the opportunities and resources you need to reach your full potential.

So why not join us and help shape the engineering landscape of the future?
