Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our client’s site in Derby and support the Programme Manager in delivering project requirements.
In this role you will ensure overall project outputs meet requirements, this ranges from technical development projects, to product delivery and programme to control account delivery.
You will be dealing with customers and stakeholders at all levels and will be accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time

Key responsibilities include:
Acting as the focal point for all aspects related to the packages of work and provide information necessary to make management decisions to the key stakeholders.
Ensuring project controls processes are effectively deployed and maintained for all work through the lifecycle of the project’s delivery.
Coordinating work across the delivery business units alongside a Tech lead, in line with agreed project controls processes and controlling activities including gated reviews, monitoring, priorities, dependencies, procurement, quality, work authorisation, change control, approvals and stakeholder management.
Developing detailed plans alongside the planning function to meet the overall project and business unit objectives, ensuring they are realistic and delivered to.
Supporting contract/project/control account reviews by producing management reports. This will be for both internal and external reviews and cover all aspects of control account progress against plan, resource, risk and deliverables.
Providing input to financial management, including monthly monitoring, quarterly forecasts, budgets, estimates to complete and invoicing.
Qualifications and experience required to apply for the role:
Degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline or equivalent level of continuous professional development and experience (ideally in the defence engineering environment).
Project Management experience, showing an understanding of the project lifecycle, risk management, cost management, planning and programming.
Good understanding of engineering and/or operations activities.
A working knowledge of SAP and/or scheduling tools in relation to project activities is desirable.
APMP or PRINCE 2 qualifications would be desirable.
Ability to work with minimum supervision in order to deliver results and to work in ambiguous situations, whilst working to tight timescales and achieving quality outputs on time.
Have a proven track record in project delivery and the ability to operate in a complex environment
