Description du Poste

Assystem’s Nuclear Division has recently been awarded several design contracts, and as a result are expanding their team in Somerset. As such, we now have an opening for a Fluid System Engineer, the role is ideal for a Systems Engineer with a background of designing fluid systems.

As a Fluid Systems Engineer you will be responsible for performing the necessary engineering analyses, including the supporting calculations, for a specific system in order to update the system documentation required for the project. You will act as the central point of contact for systems which fall under your responsibility.

The Role:

Responsible for updating the System Design Manual including:

  • Analysis / verification of the input data
  • Implementing the Safety Classified Component
  • Carrying out the process and operational design of the system
  • Ensuring 3D model is accurate and consistent with the intended design

Management of modifications related to the system including:

  • Managing requests for modifications to systems issued by various external parties
  • Analysis and verification of the applicability of these modifications and challenging them as appropriate
  • Developing technical solutions and presenting them to the client to help resolve technical issues
  • Utilising the electronic Engineering Change Management tool

Coordination of a System Design Manual Activity:

  • Organising the activity, including organising pre-job and post job briefs, collection of input documents, producing a Design File for the activity
  • Presenting the activity, process and planning for the activity to the team
  • Reporting of activity progress to management

 



Profil

Experience / Qualifications: 

  • HNC / HND or equivalent (in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering)
  • Knowledge of nuclear fluid system design, calculation and modelling
  • Working knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics
  • Understanding of Safety Case construction and Nuclear Safety requirements placed on systems
  • Understanding of Nuclear Safety principles related to design of HVAC systems on a Nuclear Power Station
  • Knowledge of UK licensing requirements and its application within the HPC project

Desirable: 

  • Experience of performing design work on UK nuclear facilities
  • Ability to speak and write technical documents in French
  • Familiarity with Human Performance techniques
  • Experience of working on an operating plant or on an industrial site

 

**Security Clearance is required**

Assystem within the UK are subject to security and export control restrictions due to the nature of work to be undertaken.
