Description du Poste

Assystem are recruiting for a variety of key strategic and tactical roles to join our Nuclear New Build division and work both with and / or on our clients and customer sites including the operational locations and within our regional offices.

We are now seeking experienced Principal Electrical Engineers to work and support within our Engineering Business area with the intention of working across the operational delivery structure and teams of such as Design, Engineering, Construction, QA, Commissioning and Handover Transition into Through Life Operations.

In this role you will work and support the technical and engineering delivery aspects on our Client’s Key Delivery Milestones, where you will bring with you an additional technical depth and bench strength to support and lead robust critical delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role you will be reporting into the Assystem Engineering Director. Your prime focus will be to drive, lead, support and provide oversight to:

  • Final stage of construction to the basis of design, establish open points, define, and highlight changes and non-conformance to the origin of the intended client requirements.
  • Engineering and Technical Support to the established open point solutions inline with the process and procedures and the oversight rigor of the schedule, cost, and quality expectations.
  • Technical review of red penned drawings, test procedure and reports, schematics, and the likes of the electrical build, and provide contractor surveillance.
  • Through Construction Asset Preservation and Maintenance oversight to Maintain Asset Integrity to the long-term operation on completion.
  • Through Final Stage Installation qualification, SAT and iSAT preparation and oversight.
  • Address technical queries raised by team members, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Supporting organisational learning, helping in the identification of gaps, root cause understanding and the effective resolution of events and build-up of OPEX.
  • Identify risks and work to close with an appropriate mitigation in place. Ensure that delivery of approved solution is conducted with your oversight.
  • Work as part of the Operational Acceptance Working Group.
  • Liaison with the other area of the programme, in terms of such as Design Authority, Construction, Commissioning, Resolutions, QA, HRR, Transition, Pre-Ops and Ops.
  • Provide Procedural Adherence and Robustness with establishing and gaps, rectification actions and oversight rigor.

Profil

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 7+ Years’ experience of Electrical Engineering HV and MV.

  • Minimum of 3+ Years’ experience of the nuclear industry preferred, or a demonstrable understanding of Nuclear Professionalism, that can be from similar heavily regulated industries.

  • Have demonstrable experience of electrical power systems engineering, along with the integration of safety critical aspects.

  • Understanding of Electrical System Function, Technical and Performance Test Specifications and ability to develop and close gaps

  • Appreciation of Electrical Systems and the Integration with the multiple interfaces.

  • Understanding of Electrical system guard lines and monitoring systems.

  • An awareness of how the Electrical system aspects align and integrate within a complex asset and project environment.

  • A demonstrable track record of delivery expertise in Electrical systems with at least two of the core Electrical Engineering System Engineering specialisations, and general experience across the whole systems and system lifecycle.

  • Understanding of the key aspects of nuclear safety cases, and the classification requirements of potential accident risk to Systems and Components, and the qualification requirements.

  • Experience in the development and substantiation of Safety System in accordance with recognised Functional and Safety Standards.

  • The capability to deliver integrated system solutions to the required standards, in the required timescales, supported by appropriate documentation.

  • An awareness of project life cycle management, through all its phases.

  • A commercial awareness of project management to support technical knowledge.

  • Understanding of a Highly Regulated Industry.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum qualification for this role is HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification with proven and demonstrable experience of practical application for 7 to 10 years.
  • Preferred qualification for this role is HND / Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Incorporated Engineer or working towards Chartership status
  • Member of a recognised institute
